Participants scheduled to attend next month’s ICEi show in London have received a pat on their collective backs from no less an entity than eCOGRA, the non-profit body which keeps a watch on fair gaming practices and ensures player protection and responsible operator conduct.
Among the industry’s most mature
eCOGRA’s Fair Gaming Advocate Tex Rees has described the companies participating in ICEi as among the e-gaming industry’s most mature, accountable and responsible. Rees said ICEi 2009 marks a coming of age of the e-gaming industry which has been working tirelessly towards transparency and integrity. eCOGRA has already certified some 125 online gaming sites as “Safe and Fair”. Online internet casinos are big business these days sites like Intercasino, 888 and PartyPoker and Casino attracted thousands online gamers who never heard from online casinos before.
Widening horizons
The organization, which was hitherto focusing on online casinos and poker, is now looking to include bingo and sportsbooks within its ambit, and hopes to use ICEi as a meeting ground with representatives of these sectors, to explore the possibilities of working together.
